IJN Yamashiro – Fusō-class Battleship
The IJN Yamashiro was the second Fusō-class battleship of the Imperial Japanese Navy, commissioned in 1917. Initially serving in patrol duties, it was later modernized with enhanced armor and a distinctive pagoda-style superstructure. Despite its upgrades, Yamashiro was outclassed by newer battleships and was ultimately lost in the Battle of Surigao Strait in 1944.
